Known as El Sistema, was founded in 1975 by an amateur musician and professional economist named José Antonio Abreu. As the film details, 80-90% of the 265,000 children and young people in the program's schools are from poor families, many living in crime-infested, gangster-controlled neighborhoods where drive-by shootings are an everyday occurrence.

The film is divided into thematic chapters in which the creators and protagonists of the genre talk about the history of hip hop in this country, from its birth in the early 90s to the present day, with reference to its main features, such as DJing, MCing, graffiti, breakdancing and beatbox. Each chapter begins with single-minute excerpts (which, when put together, constitute a short film) from the lives of a group of Greek hip hop.
