About us
CineDoc screens and distributes award-winning Greek and international documentaries. The screenings are organised as part of the CineDoc Documentary Festival, in collaboration with the French Institute of Greece, Danaos Cinema, Anesis Open-Air Cinema, the Greek Film Archive, CineDoc Volos under the auspices of the Municipality of Volos, the Region of Thessaly, the Deputy Mayoral Office for Culture of the Municipality of Larissa, the Thessaloniki International Film Festival and Simeio Cultural Space in Rethymno. The Festival takes place every year from September to April across CineDoc’s main network, presenting new films approximately once a month.
The Festival aims to highlight documentary film as one of the most powerful forms of art. More than any other film genre, it has the power to inspire, change perceptions and influence the way we live and behave. CineDoc seeks to strengthen this dynamic relationship with its audience, encourage participation in cultural and social initiatives, and bring local communities into meaningful contact with the filmmakers whose work is presented.
At the same time, CineDoc continuously expands its distribution network by organising documentary screenings both on the Greek islands—across the Cyclades, Sporades, Ionian Islands and Dodecanese through CineDoc Island—and throughout the rest of Greece. Each year, CineDoc co-organises and supports regional documentary screenings in collaboration with cultural and environmental organisations, film clubs, counselling centres, foundations, cinemas, municipalities and other partners. These parallel and regional screenings take place throughout the year.

The process is quick and simple. After each screening, we invite you to rate the film you have just watched.
Your vote matters! By taking part, you not only help select the audience’s favourite film, but also actively support independent documentary filmmakers in continuing their important work.
